how do you teach kids to not be obsessed with buying stuff? propaganda for kids it's just everywhere and they are more susceptible to it than most
@lunely we didn't really have allowances as kids, just birthday money sometimes. So, we (my sister and I) learned to prioritize stuff when our parents explained how to do it. They also didn't buy us all sorts of stuff, just what we needed or a couple thinks we wanted.
Definitely not foolproof, but my point being that possibly it has to be by example and practice, and not just verbal/telling?
