@puffinus_puffinus not really. There was a faint onion-y smell in the air, but less than when cutting a regular onion.
But to be fair, most of them were on their last leg; leaves looked sad and flowers about to fall apart. And my nose isn't the most reliable narrator - e.g. I am almost incapable of smelling rotten eggs.
