TBQH I also can't believe we live in a world which has essentially decided that war is actually ok as long as you're not *too* much of a dick about it.
Found a long Twitter thread documenting some of the atrocities the US police have committed during these protests. It's harrowing to look through. Huge CW for violence and some graphic images of injuries
@InvaderXan Anyone who can watch this long list of videos and agree with Trump on who the bad guys are is a fucking fascist
@Lexi Seriously. Trouble is, most people are only watching what their news channel of choice shows them. And I'm willing to bet that Fox barely shows this stuff at all.
The CNN journalist getting arrested without being officially charged is probably the most that anyone will ever see barring some localized event covered only on the localized news and barred in newsrooms outside that area while simultaneously allowing for brick-throwers and looters to be discussed nationwide.
@InvaderXan @Lexi And viola. You end up with one side portrayed as "a few bad apples" and the other as "a violent gang of thugs" all because of what gets shown and how it's talked about by a handful of capitalist broadcast companies.
We don't have freedom of the press. We never did. Even in media, it's always been unlimited freedom of money, and the methods have been tweaked and polished over the centuries to sustain that.
Sunbeam City is a Libertarian Socialist solarpunk instance. It is ran democratically by a cooperative of like-minded individuals.
