I did some yardwork on #sundiy and made a couple little woven fences with some pruned branches. The forsythia trimmings were the best for this, they're very flexible.
@ziggurat I'm curious if you've had any of the forsythia try and re-root? My cousin now has a forsythia bush where she trellised some peas, and I regularly add to my hedge by just sticking the trimmed branches into the dirt.
@rebeccah Not so far, but it wouldn't surprise me! When I don't prune the bushes enough their branches try to root themselves
