Looks like I'm going to Münich for my next post-doc. If anyone has any Germany-related tips, lmk!

(boosts welcome)

@starfish hi there! Munich is so beautiful, good catch! Only thing is rent is really expensive...
Du you have specific questions?

@starfish I am a climatologist from Bonn. What kind of tips are you thinking of?

@starfish Researcher in Munich here (working, not living there just yet). Happy to answer questions if I can / chat if you like!

@starfish put your name on your mail box the minute you get one! And check your mail! Like, the physical one!

Don't worry if you cant say the german R, münchners can't either

The city doesn't collect recyclables but you can bring them yourself to a Wertstoffinsel near you

Public museums are 1€ on sundays

I have more where these came from, if you want. You can also ask me directly anything!

@eearroyo1312 @starfish Especially considering there's no *one* German R. 😄

Some Germans are very posh about their speaking standard German, but Germany has a wealth of beautiful dialects.

@starfish you can go skinny dipping dead in the centre of he city if that's your thing (on an island in the middle of the river)

meat, food

@starfish Don’t eat Weißwurst after 12.
(No idea why, I grew up way North of the Weißwurst equator.)

Do eat butter-brezen. 🥨

Tap water is safe to drink.

There’s a good vegan Döner place near the main station.
