Something a poor comrade taught me is solidarity means you don't assume you know what others need. You go to them and ask.
Never assume you know what someone else's needs are better than they do. Why would you?
Related: if you are a researcher and you set your own research questions about a form of oppression that doesn't effect you?
Not solidarity. Not helping. Probably exploiting someone else's experience for your own gain.
Go directly to the people experiencing the oppression and ask what they want researched.
And if the answer is "Nothing", back the fuck off.
