I can't believe we're a fifth of the way into the 21st century, and a shocking percentage of humanity still genuinely believes the best way to generate energy involves digging stuff out of the ground and burning it.
@InvaderXan point of contention: I think the percentage of people who genuinely believe that is irrelevant. A very, very small percentage of humanity makes itself very, very rich by digging stuff out of the ground and burning it, and as long as they’re profiting, they don’t care what anyone believes.
@InvaderXan "Burning" shit (this includes radioactive decay) is how Humanity survived the last 100,000 years.
It's a bad habit, but very hard to break.
