I think it’s important to remember that if you’re using the excuse that your software project should not be held to account for being inaccessible because it is released under a free software license what you’re really saying is that disabled people are not welcome in the free software world.

@SocialistJoe @aral you wouldn't release your software if it was missing e.g. monitor support. Then also don't release it without screen reader support
@powersource @aral Won't hobbyists just keep their software to themselves if they don't have the time or expertise needed to meet every accessibility feature demanded?
@SocialistJoe @powersource You’ll have to ask the hobbyists like Canonical and IBM that are shipping operating systems with broken screen readers.
