This afternoon, I took a trip to Clichy-Batignolles on the North side of Paris. It’s under construction as an ecodistrict – this place used to be all industry and logistics. Now it’s home to lots of sustainably powered residential buildings and green space. It’s rather nice.

I’m thinking this place will look fantastic in a few more years, when these buildings are all covered in green!

A somewhat solarpunky looking tower building with curvy neo-futurist style architecture. If this building isn’t covered with vines soon, I’ll be disappointed.
This building has a solar array on its roof. It looks like it has enough panels to provide a significant amount of the building’s energy.
In the midst of all these buildings is a big green space, full of trees, recreation areas, and people enjoying them. There are a couple of children’s playgrounds and a skate park too.
I’m not sure what this building is. It looks like it was here when they started building this place and they decided to keep it. It’s quite short, it’s red tiled roof is now lined with solar panels, and the walls are covered with metal mesh which is slowly being taken over by climbing plants.
