#thunderbird's ssl cerficate checking is so secure that I had to tell my dad to disable it and use cleartext
why is a new, valid certificate something they insist on confirming each time letsencrypt mints a new one?
@joeyh Am I understanding this correctly: Thunderbird want the user to verify that a new TLS certificate is valid, even when the certificate is made by a well-known, trusted CA?
@joeyh Uh. That's enough to convince me to not try Thunderbird this year. I've usually tried it every year to see if I wanted to switch, but maybe not now. (Usually it fails because it doesn't let me configure it for my oddball mail server setup.)
@liw always possible I did something wrong.
