@horrorvacui i mean! want to know more about this!
Fra

@miel eheh! That’s one of my hobbies, you can ser the final result on the last picture :)
I like to create these, often using scrap fabrics from here and there 🧵

@horrorvacui oooooh! i missed the other photo! that is an awesome result! did you make the laser cut patterns too?

@miel thank you!!
the lasercutting was made by @s_ol based on my pattern :))

@horrorvacui @s_ol nice! and how did you find using the laser cut patterns in mdf(?); instead of the other patterns? (as i understand, they may be of other fabric)

@miel @s_ol yeah most times patterns are made by using a specific paper, which works okay but sometimes I cut a bit of the paper by accident or the lines were not very straight if i was trying to cut at a certain distance from the paper. These work pretty well for this specific pattern, about the material we would have to ask @s_ol what it is :)

@horrorvacui @s_ol ummm i've done some stuff like a very personalized buff for nyc winter bike commutes or my latest was a biger bag from promotional totes for dirty laundry, but it would be more survival sewing hahaha an by hand.
i would love to learn more! right now i have a pair of black skinny jeans that i'm fed up with them being so tight hahaha that i want to open them up to add a flare and even some macramé on the sides haha idk if i'll ruin them

@s_ol @miel well if you dont like them anymore as they are right now, then don’t fear screwing them up :D when you learn how to use a machine the cool thing also that anything you’re afraid of screwing up can still become scrap fabric for something else ahah

@miel Yeah it's MDF :)

The idea with the slots around the outside was to use them to mark where the seam should end up, and in some places to mark the centerline to align pieces. But we found out pretty quickly that the slot is too small to use with a chalk marker, and also @horrorvacui said she prefers to estimate the seam position based on how the pieces that are aready sown fit together
