Aaah, I love this little desk-mounted vice I got off ebay!
Today I got to do a bit of hammering on a metal ring that had gotten out of shape. This would've been very tedious before. ^__^

Japanese knotweed root dyeing experiments!
These were all dyed with whole dried roots. The whole root gives a much more yellow colour than using just the outer bark of the root. Its still lovely though and requires a lot less work.
All of these were left out with their top half covered for the past 3.5 months, and there is no noticeable fading or colour change at all!

Back in the bay area! 
Travel was very exhausting. Air travel is already very difficult, but the pandemic aspect is a whole extra layer. I'll feel a lot less anxious with a negative covid test in-hand in a few days. 🤞

seeking recommendations for Speech to Text, accessibility software 
must:
⭐ provide good levels of accuracy (when trained)
⭐ not require internet access to function
⭐ be able to work from prerecorded sound files and microphone input
would prefer:
⭐ run on linux, including under wine
⭐ be floss
⭐ be able to handle pauses in speech well
recommendations and questions seeking clarification of my needs are welcomed, boosts are appreciated.

Seriously, a vernier scale is such a great trick for measuring sub-millimeter distances 😍

It's easy for me to think too fondly on the past & forget that there were sometimes some really problematic and not-ok aspects of things I once was really into.

First bike ride of the season! I was anxious about cars & bumpy roads, so I was super gentle & slow with myself. 🥰
I'm also trying to get better at pacing! I have a habit of pushing harder than I can handle and end up exhausted way early. 🚲
