Junk mail funds the usps
YES! At last someone did the math on junk mail. I've been appalled for years that junk mail is not yet illegal!

@socalledunitedstates Here in the Netherlands we have a system where people can put a standardized sign on their door. If the mailman sees the sign, he is by law forbidden to put the junk mail in.
In Amsterdam they made that system opt-out: you have to put a sign on your door if you still want to receive junk mail.
Any source, please? 🕵️♀️
@socalledunitedstates in the Netherlands there are stickers for on your mailbox: “yes - no”, meaning you like the local free newspapers, but not the advertising, and one that says “no - no”, meaning you don’t want any of it. Delivery people are obligated to not go against what the sticker says. Unfortunately that doesn’t work for stuff that comes with the mail, that has your name on it.
How you suppose to send those mail and how you asume those all junk mail?
There are recycling factories in place to recycle that waste.
Capitalism controlled by the market so its the people you should blame not capitalism.
If you asked my Business Professor, he'd tell you paper mailers are the way to go because you can get the most exposure for the least amount of money.
Man it's almost like the profit motive is *terrible*
@socalledunitedstates in the meantime we can do our best to ensure we don’t get this junk mail by removing ourselves off of marketing lists. https://zerowastenerd.com/how-to-get-rid-of-junk-mail
@socalledunitedstates always mark "return to sender" on everything. it won't stop it all but it makes a huge dent!
i have no idea how true this is, but its truthiness overpowers me. i hate junk mail
