Things about me:
I'm 22
I'm from the UK
I'm a pretty run of the mill socialist
Currently dipping my toe into Solarpunk
I'm chronically ill
I work freelance
I'm vegan

As much as I'm into Social Ecology and Bookchin's school of thought, I can't help but yawn when I'm reading his denser works. So I thought I'd put together a wee Social Ecology reading list made up of easily-digestible essays not written by Bookchin:

Social Ecology (as a whole) - 'Communalism Pamphlet' by Marcus & Stephanie Armagi filmsforaction.org/articles/co

1. Dialectical Naturalism - 'The Trouble With Wilderness' by William Cronon williamcronon.net/writing/Trou

2. History of Hierarchy - 'Cities Without Centralization' by Greg Bryant rainmagazine.com/archive/1992/

3. Ecological Critique - 'Ambiguities of Animal Rights' by Peter Staudenmaier social-ecology.org/wp/2005/01/

4. Libertarian Municipalism - 'The Politics of Social Ecology' by Janet Biehl social-ecology.org/wp/wp-conte

5. Utopian Vision - 'To Be Realistic, Demand The Impossible' by Blair Taylor tikkun.org/to-be-realistic-dem

Taking the opportunity to casually plug the our repository of publicly-available radical cinema from all of film history.

Check it out, you may find something you like! I'm also available to recommend any based on your personal tastes :blobheartcat:

Moorland fires never used to be a thing. They've started only since I left the UK in 2006. Now they don't happen in high summer or autumn but mid spring.

Favourite practical solarpunk tips?

I've been collating some resources about Solarpunk stuff for a little while now, thank you to everyone who has shared with me!

A lot of what I have at the moment is quite thinking heavy - lots of books and essays and big words. It's proving a little draining for my CFS. I'm mindful of trying to make things as accessible as possible, so has anyone got any top tips for living Solarpunk practically?

Thanks! 🌻

For everyone who relies on prescription medication; what are ur brexit plans?

I mean, can we even pretend it's a democracy anymore when one person can decide when parliament votes and even if they vote at all.

watching the fall of Theresa May on live TV is a good way to spend a Monday afternoon tbh.

I don't mean be a debbie downer, but can I just say it sucks that a lot of disabled people have to rely on freelance work (cos of accessibility issues) and then we end up with no employment rights in top of everything else.
