My sister works with an organization that helps feral cats.

Here's some resources she shared about building winter cat shelters. They use the 2 plastic bin method shown in this article and video

In looking into it more, I saw some people also build shelters for the winter

This seems like a nice idea, though I'm also wondering if we should be aware of any unintended consequences?

We stopped by a nonprofit that helps stray cats, asking how we can help them.

They said they'd come by and get them vaccinated, neutered and tagged. So we arranged that.

We also asked if we could feed them and they said sure, better that than random garbage they get into.

The name of our house is the Fraidy Cats house because we are one of the houses on the block w/o a dog.

podcast on incarceration, animal companions

This episode of features an incarcerated man who takes care of animals he comes across in the prison yard. The list is incredible: black widow, vole, snake, snails, fly, frog...

and a moving exploration of asserting love and care in the face of confinement and torture.

Some topics we'd especially like to cover include -
* Women in union leadership roles.
* Trans issues as union issues.
* Why are women so underrepresented as union organisers, despite making up the majority of members?
* Organising where women are.

Solarpunk fashion week is great and all, but what if I started a action week? Get everyone out there doing something useful then sharing pics and resources

I'll probably wait until Spring so that it'll be a good time for planting. Maybe the week of Earth Day?
