A few of our grasshopperpocalypse survivors for the #gardening updates. A little pumpkin seedling, Malabar spinach, and some moss roses to attract the poor confused pollinators since the porch plants aren't flowering 🌱🌸
local politics, hate against homeless ppl
also we have these assholes who are trying to petition to force a vote to criminalize existing while homeless within the city again! (right now camping is allowed, anarchists are working hard to supply food, water, and sanitizer, and the rich people Hate It). I've at least successfully repelled them from one place due to making a scene and complaining to staff, but they are still at it every day. Can I just buy some vegetables or mail a package without having to deal with these scumbags?
We finally built a big raised bed for a bunch of our baby plants. I'll post a photo tomorrow as well as my Monstera which now gets an emoji
As far as the absolute demonic behavior of APD this weekend
the protest we were headed to got canceled by the organizers (due to what I think is the same group of bizarre tankies who love to cause problems around here) so that sucked but we'll go out for the next one
So if anyone was curious about how many things I’ve managed to grow on my windowsill, the answer is lots.
In today's #gardening news I murdered a few of my seedlings but at least my Monstera is recovering fast from being neglected under the porch for too long.
Leggy but coming up! 🌱 🌱🌿 I'll move them into a better light once this lovely rain forsakes us #growyourownfood #gardening
“We need acts of restoration, not only for polluted waters and degraded lands, but also for our relationship to the world. We need to restore honor to the way we live, so that when we walk through the world we don’t have to avert our eyes with shame, so that we can hold our heads up high and receive the respectful acknowledgment of the rest of the earth’s beings.”
— Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
Didn't get these done in time for #solarpunkactionweek but we got the first wave of seeds planted for what's been deemed Gardenpocalypse.
We're starting extra beans, swiss chard, collards, okra, corn, peppers, zucchini and squash to give away the baby plants to our friends and a guerilla garden I volunteered to help some fellow anarchists set up
