Hi, everyone! We are an international worker-owned co-op.

We provide tech services with a commitment to privacy, transparency and sustainability. We have a strong commitment to libre software. You can read about our values on our website: autonomic.zone/blog/our-foundi

We are especially interested in collaborating with co-ops and other collective organisations working for a better world.

How do you balance eco-consciousness with lots of newer tech becoming more power efficient, but less repairable alongside existing tech that is more repairable, but is less efficient? Is there a good guideline to follow when it just eventually makes sense to upgrade old gear?

#GoToSocial still has a bit of money saved up from liberapay donations to pay someone to make a small website at gotosocial.org (currently nothing there). Just something static that explains what the project is and links to the docs and the code repo. At a stretch we could also have something that lets us post blog-style updates there (here's what we've been working on this month etc), but that part isn't a big priority right now. Theming should be consistent with the GtS style. If you're interested, dm me or reply here :)

@sam is the unnamed chat co-op xmpp room down? :battery_empty: cant seem to get into it right now?

I am unable to find a single co-op in the U.S. that provides fiscal hosting to help other co-ops get started. If anyone knows of one (or wants to start one) I'd love to hear from you. I feel like this *has* to be a thing.

@Matt_Noyes @GuerillaOntologist with meet.coop we have starter tot deploy streaming servers on demand, that allow hosts to live stream a conf room over tge RTMPS protocol to platforms like Vimeo, YouTube, Twitch, and also recently to PeerTube

Is there an "ActivityPub Explorer" app or something out there? Something that interprets ActivityPub objects by URL (letting you click around through URLs in the JSON-LD) enough to be convenient but not so much that it hides things it doesn't understand (better to show a JSON tree than nothing) or changes names to mismatch with the spec.

the solution to the government coming after you is not 'self hosting'. self hosting means the government will kick your ass instead of pressuring a business to do it for them

"We want to create a globally oriented, cooperative, interdisciplinary art and culture platform that will remain effective beyond the 100 days of documenta fifteen. Our curatorial approach aims at a different kind of collaborative model of resource use—economically, but also in terms of ideas, knowledge, programs, and innovation."

This online conversation focuses on the lumbung value of Sufficiency. Human ambition has led to discoveries in all fields, and has even brought mankind to other planets. The value of sufficiency, on the other hand, seems incredibly outdated today, as thrift and frugality are considered conditions of deprivation. The Pillars of Hercules have been passed long ago, despite the warning “Ne plus ultra” (“nothing further beyond”), which urged sailors and navigators to go no further.

The sixth edition of lumbung calling explores the limits of sufficiency: When do we say enough is enough? How can these limits be pushed? Who or what defines them?

With the guests Paula Fleisner and Christopher Cozier, hosted by Jumana Emil Abboud and Mirwan Andan.

The comrades at @ruangrupa_ruru are live shortly, tune in to a nice programme and also help load test their self-managed infrastructure 👌

We're running this infrastructure on @coopcloud configurations which are available for all to reuse which aligns with the lumbung model.

Autonomic is proud to be supporting this much needed intervention into reclaiming digital infrastructure.
