@tavi theory is brainworms, just burn things :^D
@dressupgeekout i feel so close to being a weeb. like i wish i was. i love the classic Weeb™ aesthetic. fumos, posters everywhere, anime wallpaper. i'm lightly into manga and anime but i'm not like, a lifestylist. but i could be. i almost feel like i should be.
this is very far out of my league but if i maintain my interests, i will be unstoppable at 35.
@dressupgeekout i need to play it; it looks so funnn 🐈
Like/favourite/etc buttons feel bad. I like the idea of being able to give non-verbal feedback and acknowledgement online, but I feel like emoji reactions (such as what Discord uses) is a much better system than likes or a fixed set of reactions (such as with Facebook or MS Teams) because it allows for creative non-verbal reactions that don't lead to hard-wired dopamine responses. I feel like we should normalise non-verbal emoji replies on platforms without emoji reactions.
one thing being openly and loudly queer around everyone I'm not related to for ten years now has taught me is that there are an absolute shitload of closeted bi cis dudes
I can't tell you how many times I've been told, "I'm bi (but it's a secret)" or "I'm bi (but my wife doesn't know)"
let cis men be bi imo
@tavi hi tavi
@tavi stuff like this has made me kind of understand the point of gemini as opposed to http. like yea you can have simple http sites but that shares territory with the rest of the web and all the junk that comes with that. you could just use netsurf or dillo and never touch googleland but even then i'm pretty sure user agent tracking is baked into http. with gemini, you simply cannot have those things. everything is simple, everything is separate from the rest of your tracked browsing, and everything is consistent.
@tavi Every new hardware security feature is a backdoor so not for the foreseeable future, no.
@tavi yes i Can hear the difference between 16/44.1 and 24/192 with my audio-technica ath-m50x u plebeian. [proceeds to spend $30 on a digital album]
@n somewhere between the two. anything that lets me do very basic editing with layers and can do text kerning.
