Umbrella Academy
Character driven story. Screwed up characters who don’t know how to adult. Random dance interludes. Over-the-top comic book action sequences. Found family tropes (even though they actually *are* family?). Comically out of place soundtrack. Absurdist humour. The occasional heroic sacrifice. And Ellen Page.
This show hits a sweet spot that I didn’t even know existed!
Umbrella Academy
@wlonk Oh, really? How so?
Umbrella Academy
@InvaderXan I dunno, it just set off an unconscious "this is gonna be an asshole's idea of edgy" feelings.
Umbrella Academy
@wlonk Thankfully, this wasn’t the case!
Umbrella Academy
@InvaderXan it’s so good, I love it so much
Umbrella Academy
@InvaderXan I went into it originally with zero expectations, but it's so good! I especially genuinely can't stop thinking about the main queer romance plotline from S2 (intentionally vague in case you aren't there yet lol) it's... very good! I love it!
Umbrella Academy

@InvaderXan That's all compelling to hear; something about it gave me "steer clear" vibes!
