“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.”

This. With any kind of group action, half-assing it is always better than no-assing it.
@suetanvil Totally. Especially where environmental things are concerned.
Also with boycotts. If everyone goes from using Amazon first to using Amazon only when there's no realistic better option, they're going to feel that.
@InvaderXan i’ve also seen this sentiment expressed with regards to food: the goal isn’t to make a couple folks go vegan, it’s to make a majority consider vegan meals among their options.
@gekitsu Absolutely, this is what I try and encourage people towards. Myself, I haven't given up meat, but I haven't eaten any for a few weeks. That's the best way for us to collectively make a difference, I think.
@InvaderXan mhmm, similar here. wrt meat, i like to go ‘less, but better’ whenever possible, and having delicious vegetarian or vegan meals with folks seems to be a vector facing very little opposition.
(a complete aside: your username is so good. whenever it crops up in my TL, i get that chekhov-voiced ‘oh no!’ in my head)
