I’d like to make some home automation to manage my electrical heaters, plant watering and music in my apartment
While i have some DIY hardware solutions, I’d like to avoid using IFTTT, google or siri
Do you guys know any free software that can handle voice detection and run the routines for the various tasks at hand?
I’m thinking about using MQTT and huginn https://github.com/huginn/huginn/blob/master/README.md but I’d love to hear your suggestions
For example I’m wondering if I could save power and money by implementing some predictive control (such as a kalmann filter)on my heaters to take advantage of off-peak hours
Also opening and closing blinds to let the plants inside thrive but avoid radiative losses at night.

Google creeps me out as I’d prefer not to start by making a bad habit of using their services and getting locked into them
