Anybody know of open source designs for tents? Specifically a lightweight 1 or 2 person tent.

@socalledunitedstates that is cool! I am specifically looking for something that could fit in a backpack though

@tulsi The proprietary design of Hennessy Hammocks (hennessyhammock.com/) is pretty easy to copy DIY. They advertise weight limits from 68-136kg (120-350lb) varying by model, but mine is on the low side of those ratings and easily holds me and a partner so I think those are safe ballpark estimates.

@troubleMoney @raye This is an excellent resource thank you! and it led me towards this backpacking.net/makegear/jones which is almost exactly what I want I believe thank you both 💚

@tulsi if you look-up "tarp shelter configurations" you will find something like five or six dozen ways you can rig a tarp to be a small tent for one or two people. Most times just a few extra lines and stakes are used, and often a hiking pole gets involved so everything is multi-use.
