I actually really *liked* programming in Java. I found it to be a really fun language. :3

It really appealed to my visual brain: I could visualize the [numerous] classes spatially as separate distinct objects and it let me manage big codebases well*.
* I wrote a 25,000 line online multiplayer shooter in Java in my teens 😈
