Iffy Books is a new little bookstore in philly seeking to share knowledge of hacking, free culture, gardening, zines.
Today I went with my friend to set up a Wemo D1 clone with another non-techie friend and we were able to get this chip to display a website! It was my friend's first time learning html and css, and as a designer it was a lot of fun for her. I enjoyed being able to learn a new board to use with the Arduino other than the circuit playground.
The guide zine is available for free (along with the zines for all the other workshops) if you want to try as well. It's still a work in progress since today's session was also a bit of debugging, but great fun!

You might see that there is actually a use of some work by #varia on there! @rra
Iffy Books will be soon to join Mastodon too (after a little persuasion :) )
I'm also very excited to learn about efforts to implement a mesh network for Philadelphia!
@pixouls do you just have something printed that says "connect to this WiFi network"? I really love the idea. Idk if you remember the PirateBox project.
Wondering how you get someone to connect to an unfamiliar SSID.
@teslas_moustache it shows up in the wifi as an unsecure SSID correct. When you click it, instead of taking you to a log in page, the mini window browser for logging in takes you to whatever I put on it. I don't know the pirate box project but I'll check it out!
