My house is hosting a clothing swap for friends and community.
One of my housemates is taking the lead on it but I'm helping out.
At the moment I'm dreaming of finding ways to incorporate mending into it. Maybe print some mending zines, buy/make some mending kits, have some patches and scraps of fabric. Set up a mending specific table with some stuff so folks can work on it at the swap.
Anyone got ideas on how to incorporate mending into a clothing swap?
Printing out some of the zines from the Mending Bloc
a lot of them are very beginner friendly and provide some good basics on mending

@sunflower_avenue your ideas sound pretty solid to me!
@sunflower_avenue there was a clothing swap and mending booth at my town's Earth Day events today, and they had a couple areas side-by-side. One had clothing on racks for people to try, and then the mending area was just a big table with chairs all around it, and every chair had a person mending something sitting in it. The mending seemed to automatically incorporate.
@raye exactly! the mending and clothing swap seem to perfectly go together. The goal of both is to get new wearable clothes and reduce clothing waste/cost.
