@squeakypancakes dang I wish I had people irl to play tabletop games with

@cocoron I wonder if we could play this in openrpg or roll20...

@squeakypancakes Wll I certainly wouldn't say no to the idea

@squeakypancakes @cocoron There's also Tabletop Simulator with Discord for voice chat :]

@squeakypancakes Have you played the first edition? I'm thinking about backing this, but $60 US is pretty steep for me, given the exchange rate, so I was debating printing the first edition and trying a playthrough.

But I also heard the creator say that the 1st edition is too complicated and that's part of why they made a 2nd edition: to streamline the game and make it easier/more fun (while still being a teaching tool).

@ink_slinger I've not played 1st ed I but I heard that it had some issues.

@squeakypancakes Maybe I should just bite the bullet and back the 2nd edition. I fear playing the flawed 1st edition will just frustrate me.

@ink_slinger I would assume adapting 1e pirintables to 2e rules wouldn't be hard.

@squeakypancakes Yes, true, and there will eventually be free printables for the second edition, so I could just opt to wait, although I wonder if it would actually save any money...sometimes the cost of printing a "free to print" game is almost the same as just buying the manufactured version if you print on high-quality stock so you can play more than once or twice before it gets destroyed.

I'm a big fan of the first edition and it is way too complicated. But playing it with other anarchists is wonderful in a "this is what gaming should be like!" kind of way.

@mikeburns @squeakypancakes Good to know. I think I'll wait until the second edition is available, then. I think it could be fun to play with some of my left-leaning liberal friends to get them to see more radical alternatives in a fun way...get them thinking, you know? But not with the 1st edition. If it's too complicated, it'll just turn them off of the game and the ideas won't stick. Plus, I just want a fun boardgame that isn't *too* complicated.

@squeakypancakes Ooh, that looks good - I've just backed it. Goodness knows when I'll find time to play it though.
