Boycotts *can* be an effective tactic, the problem is people don't realize that personally not buying a product isn't a boycott in the same way that skipping work isn't a strike

@socalledunitedstates Further from your point, but destroying things you already own is also not a boycott (right-wing birdsite “boycotts”). And buying something just to destroy it on social media is absolutely not 😵
@socalledunitedstates I think there's a lot to learn from the boycott from which the word 'boycott' derives. Charles Boycott was forced to leave Ireland after an entire community withdrew its services from him. It was a well organised campaign that provoked an expensive response from the British state.
