this recipe embodies my childhood. I haven't tested it w vegan butter

Saltine Candy

40 odd saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350Β°
Line a cookie sheet (with sides!) with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray
Arrange as many crackers on the sheet as you can
Melt butter and sugar in a small pan
Bring to a hard boil for 3 minutes
Pour evenly over crackers, spreading as needed
Bake 3-5 minutes, until sugar bubbles again
Sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips, and spread when melted
Break apart when cool


fun fact: the writing in there is my grandmother's! she put this cookbook together when my mom moved out of the house, and now it's mine. the book is called Where's Mom Now That I Need Her, and it has sections on cleaning, first aid, and a ton of recipes, as well as space in each section of the recipes to add more
