goes dormant in the spring after being active all winter, and blooms in the autumn. Anticipated blooming is later October this year (1st full moon after the fall equinox) and this is when I amend the bed with bulb food and a bit of lime. This is also one of the rare times I water, and it's said to help the corms wake up. I then put a fresh layer of compost on the bed, which will do a lot to help the corms with growing their greens later in the winter.
