This type of art is usually called "TSP" (Travel Salesman Problem) and it's one of those unfortunate names for beautiful mathematics.
Loosely, the problem is how to go through all the points on a map as efficient as it can be.
Isn't it funny that a solution for what's a "problem" for Mr. Salesman looks like "natural" forming structures?
This prints are renders of my sketches using dithering and custom software to generate a single line that travels over every black pixel of the image.

@murilove So there is an edge between every pairs of pixels in the graph ? And the distance is of course euclidean between them ?
Could we see the initial images ?
@thoasm I'm doing a slightly modified version of this: https://wiki.evilmadscientist.com/TSP_art
@murilove that's basically a "connect the dots" puzzle for kids generator, where you number the vertex and connecting them in order draws a picture
@thoasm yes! but like, a very mean one hahaha
@murilove OK it's for nostalgic adults :p
@murilove That second image… was that an eye?
@jaycruz hehe it is whatever you see!
@murilove A 'travelling salesman' (a salesman who travels) is not the same thing as a 'travel salesman' (a man who sells travel).
@murilove @woo Imagine a salesman that sales, oh no sorry he travels, but when he stops he sells travels. … hum no, oh no that may be it … Then he computes its itinerary and he sells it to his clients, which are hopefully salesman but at the same time travelers!
To add to the clarity there are also "second orders travel salesman" that sells travels to salesman that sell travel. Everything should be clear now. No ? I have no idea what just happened.
@thoasm @murilove "A handbook for travelling salesmen from 1832 mentions the problem and includes example tours through Germany and Switzerland, but contains no mathematical treatment." - WikiP. I knew the problem pre-dated computational solutions but apparently also mathematical. "Sending" would have been a letter. I don't think there was 'a travel industry'.
@thoasm @murilove Closer than I expected though. The package holiday was invented in 1841 https://www.thomascook.com/about-us
@woo congratulations! you are correct!
