@mastobikes
In my #cycling club, there's one person on the board who's responsible to create and maintain routes for the weekly rides and the cycling trips. AFAIK she's the only one doing it, as nobody else wants the job. She's been doing it for 8 years. She was training a replacement this year, but I heard this person resigned.

I've been thinking about offering my help... Might be an opportunity to steer them toward #FOSS tools. They're using RideWithGPS and the usual big corp services.

It's based on Open Street Map with cool traffic data stuff on top

dynamic.watch/ is great little tool (though it is not free). It uses multiple different OpenStreetMap renderings, local maps from governments and multiple choices for routing tools (including Graphhopper which I prefer) @kawaiipunk @normandc @mastobikes

@gustav @kawaiipunk @mastobikes thanks, but that's not what I'm looking for. It's not for myself, but for a cycling club. Most club members don't own a GPS computer. Many struggle with a smartphone. And I want to stress again that I'm looking for free and open source software (FOSS). Looking for an online route planner with GPX and cuesheet export, embedded map feature a plus. Basically a RideWithGPS.com replacement. I've mentioned two; bikerouter.de is my fav, but doesn't do cuesheets.

@kawaiipunk @mastobikes thanks, it looks interesting. Unfortunately, while it's free, it does not appear to be FOSS. Basically, I'd want to be able to set up my own web instance if I needed. Still, this is worth looking into!

uh, that looks great. i planned a 90km route in about 10 seconds. offered route is different from the ones i cycled before, but looks interesting. i'm going to test that route in the wild.

I'm pretty happy with maps.openrouteservice.org - I'm more using it for hiking planning but they alao have cycling options

@jambamkin @heiglandreas @kawaiipunk @mastobikes It's been mentioned more than once in this thread (admittedly Mastodon does not make it easy to see all replies). Also, my original request was for a routing service that also produces a printable cue sheet (turn-by-turn directions), which Brouter doesn't support.
