this is what we had aux ports taken away for. I hate the devolution of headphone tech
@interneteh honestly headphones have done more for me than anything when it comes to navigating the shittier parts of capitalism, and it won't even let me have good ones anymore
@interneteh people asked me where this was from
@cardassianvole maybe during the revolution we can learn how to make bombs with them
@interneteh the anger this image ignited in me could fuel a small country for decades
@interneteh Can you give me a link to the source for this? I'd love to share it on LinkedIn, but not without citing the source.
@interneteh So let us overthrow the ruling class! XD just kidding.
Spread the word about this and boycott this products
re: capitalist waste
@interneteh I'm pissed beyond belief at this but also I've never seen anyone refer to audio jacks as "aux ports," and as I was reading my mind instantly identified it as French. I had go back and reread it with the x, t, and s vocalized to realize what you were saying lmao
@interneteh tbh the removal of the aux plug on the iPhone is what caused us to leave iPhone as well as face recognition. It's all just a hideous money grab.
We love good headphones and got a wireless set for Christmas but we asked for Bose since the pricetag is actually worth it for time of use. Our wired Bose headphones from 6 years ago still work amazing but we travel so much and have such a wire tangle already it was worth it to go wireless. Figure the price is worth it when divided by 6+ years of use.
@interneteh For roughly 18 months, AirPods play music, or podcasts, or make phone calls. Then the lithium-ion batteries will stop holding much of a charge, and the AirPods will slowly become unusable. They can't be repaired because they're glued together.
They can't be thrown out, or else the lithium-ion battery may start a fire in the garbage compactor. They can't be easily recycled, because there's no safe way to separate the lithium-ion battery from the plastic shell. Instead, the AirPods sit in your drawer forever.
@interneteh And there's the quiet attempt to make the entire pipeline digital so the analog hole can be closed.
It's not really sinister, per se, but it's sure as hell not a thing done for our benefit.
