So far literally the only thing I found that doesn't do that is Patreon. Even LiberaPay shows your full legal name to people >.>
@hazelnot Second Life used to be a fairly popular way to move money without the usual identity requirements, I don't know if that's still a thing though (and I know it sounds absurd)
@joepie91 lmao, yeah I'm not trying to anonymously receive money from a single person, I was gonna ask people on fedi for money (for non-essential stuff so it's like whatever but some people said they'd be actually willing to do it so

It's worth checking what your local requirements for Western Union are; in some places they don't do identity checks (and so it can be sent to arbitrary names), but it kinda depends on where you are. WU itself will not tell you this, most likely, you'd have to ask locals who have actually used it.
@joepie91 Western Union is also not really feasible, not only do they take a huge cut of the money but it also requires people to manually do stuff and/or go to a physical place to do it, can't just add in your card details and click a button to do it
I was thinking more in the vein of Ko-Fi or LiberaPay with some settings I haven't noticed or something, I'm not gonna tell someone to go to the post office to wire me 5€
@hazelnot WU does let you send money from their website in many places nowadays, and their fees are a lot lower than they used to be. Not everywhere, but enough that it's become an at least somewhat viable option IMO.
(I've used it a couple times to send money, it was nearly indistinguishable in process from any online purchase)

@joepie91 on the other hand... idk it's non-essential money, so if I can't find an option better than Wester Union I think I'll just not ask for it
@hazelnot yeah, stripe or PayPal backed services can't be trusted not to leak things
However, confusingly, neither stripe or PayPal need you to have a legally existing company to make a business account

(above statement on PayPal might not quite be correct, istg these companies try their very hardest to make nothing about their services easy to understand. PayPal also seems to be raising transfer fees on business accounts)
People recommend just deleting your PayPal and creating a new one to change your name, lol. Even if you do have updated documents to send them, it's really that bad lol

@efi as long as the people giving me money don't get to see my PayPal details, cause I made that account a really long time ago, it's on my deadname, and I can't change the name without showing them proof of name change in the form of ID
