I think about this graph that shows that Cuba is the only country in the world with a high development index that's developed sustainably... all the time

Hey, this zine that I worked on in out. NODE Vol 01, free digital release and physical preorder, n-o-d-e.net/nodevol01.html

This first volume is 150 pages long, and, it's packed with features on P2P projects, such as Dat, Beaker, Ricochet IM, Aether. There are tutorials showing projects like the new NODE Mini Server, 3D print long range wifi antennas, how to chat via packet radio, and how to Libreboot the Thinkpad X200. The Edinburgh Tool Library is the UK's first tool library, for a small membership fee you get access to a huge selection of tools that you would otherwise need to buy or rent. They currently operate out of Leith and Portobello and are open biweekly, they also organize regular workshops for skillsharing.

More tool libraries like this around the country (and the world) would mean literally seizing the means of production.

Subtooting myself

So I have recently come back to Mastadon (mainly Sunbeam.city) and I'm looking for more people to follow.
Specifically looking for people interested in:

The thing is, astronomy research has no inherent profit in it. The work astronomers do can (and often does) eventually have a strong impact on human technology and society but, at the time the scientists are still doing it? Not really.

Astronomy research is not done for profit and frequently involves collaborations which straight up ignore national borders and political matters, focusing on acquiring knowledge and sharing it freely.

Honestly, capitalists hate it.

Me: *uses the word "moon" in a toot*
Me: Oh shoot, I should've sent that from my account on The Habitat

Baywatch, steroids mention

Preparing to catch a million dirty looks for gushing about how much I enjoyed the Baywatch movie despite it being about beach cops

Currently regretting not buying that copy of the I Ching I wanted in 8th grade

I have been feeling really disconnected from my creative life the past 12 months, and it was *fine*. I wasn't unhappy about not generating work, but definitely felt some guilt about it. All of a sudden, April has me juggling 4 active projects and a couple more I desperately *want* to be working on.

Wtf brain. I'm so out of practice. How am I supposed to do this? It's thrilling, but it's also like... Really 😑😑😑

Adventures, fire

I've only started using Disroot today (particularly the nextcloud services, but other things as well), but I'm hooked. I'm absolutely sold and will be getting all my friends on it ASAP.
