Pinned toot

Related to this article thebodyisnotanapology.com/maga, I'd like to put some personal questions for all of us to reflect on.

How many of us would choose to structure our relationships in non normative ways given the chance? Would we date someone whom we weren't going to cohabitate, due to circumstances or choice? Someone whom we'd live with for some months of the year but not all the time? Share our living resources and time with several friends and partner(s) without priorising the later just because they are romantic partner(s) but based on each one's true needs? Continue living with close friends even after entering a commited relationship(s)?

What steps could we be taking to better deconstruct amatonormativity in our lives?

I'm looking for opinions on interior house wall thermal insulation. I found out my home lacks an air chamber and I'll need to do a cheap and easy fix that doesn't make me lose many inches/cm of inner room space. I'm debating between pladur (glued, direct panel application technique) or cork panels.

Anyone who has experience could tell me what gives better results, specially against cold temps?

Boost appreciated!

I know that the Notre Dame is a very important landmark but the fact that billionaires have pledged over 600 million dollars in the first 24 hours to help fix it just really puts into perspective how easily rich people could help solve world issues if they cared

I took a rights free stock picture and tried to do something experimental and different from my usual drawings.

I'm not sure how to describe this or even if it has enough artistic quality, but it has been useful to try to liberate myself from paying too much attention to minute details and stop trying to copy everything as is, working on interpreting the scene instead.

I'm looking for creators of petapixel.com/2015/01/22/disab … petition / photographers missing their right hand. I'm working on a #diy #openhardware left-hand grip for DSLR cameras with multiple buttons. #accessibility #disability #careables

I want to thank @TQ , your thread about your paintings gaining more life and quality by getting worked in layers and adding a variety of marks made me think a lot about the difference between the kind of styles I like and what I really do. Although I still need to practice realistic drawing, I also need to be practising to develop a style and language of my own. Thanks for inspiring me to try this!

I've seen a few people complain that the black hole picture is a waste, that humanity has our environment or povery or whatever else as a far far more immediate pressing matter than to take a photo that is 'an orange smear'.

The issue at hand here isn't science funding, the issue at hand is the total structure of industrial capitalism. If you cut astronomy funding to 0, how much do you think of that would go towards social projects? How much would go towards sustainable degrowth? How much would go towards ANYTHING that goes against tje ideological principles of neoliberal capitalism.

On the contrary, there are people who find a deep romantic wonder and an inherent artistic value in things like this. People finding wonder in the world, being humbled by the nature and otherness of it is a beautiful way to look at the world. Don't light your torches at astronomy, capitalism is your issue
