Anarchists in mainstream media: AAAAAA FUCK LAWS MAKE BOMBS BURN DOWN EVERY BUILDING, EVERYONE DIES YOU EITHER KILL YOURSELF OR GET KILLED, 5EDGY3ME
Anarchists IRL: I just want to be able to spend 20 hours a week baking bread for my commune and spend the rest of the time tending my garden and hanging out with my cats

People who think that there would be no scientists or "innovation" without capitalism seem to be living in some imaginary world where scientists get paid a lot. People become scientists *despite* capitalism. Capitalism tries to sabotage science at every turn.

The reason people think communism needs a totalitarian state is because they think it requires violence to separate people from property, and they're right if they're thinking of personal property. Your home, especially, no matter how `valuable` it is on paper is hard to conceive as being taken from you, but private property isnt like that, all it takes to coopt a factory is to show up to work and just not turn it over to the distant ruler. It takes violence to enforce the private property (as seen in Union busting). We dont need to kill the rich to take their wealth.

Kropotkin even discusses in brief ways this might shake out for those homes that get too big to be personal property for individuals.

YunoHost is pretty cool. I have little experience setting up servers, but I do know a little bit about setting up dev environments. So I followed a tutorial to set it up on Digital Ocean and have it all running on my own domain with SSL. It went pretty smooth mostly...

For $5 dollars per month I can use Wallabag (Pocket alternative) and my own RSS feed manager with Tiny Tiny RSS Feed.

Besides that I also have the option to install countless of other apps with Yunohost.

The argument that "people worldwide are being lifted out of poverty thanks to capitalism" is so fucking disgusting I can't even/

If you guys have a good book on the subject to recommend I'd love to read it.

"We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable – but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art. Very often in our art, the art of words".

"The internet of 1995 and 1999 and 2001 and even 2007 was a backwater by today’s standards, but to me, it was the most wonderful thing. It was strange and silly and experimental and constantly surprising, and it made you feel good about other people, because online, away from corporate media and every channel of established culture, other people turned out to be constantly surprising too. They [...] told you, to your eternal benefit, about what it was like to be someone other than yourself."
