Often it's about assuming malicious intent automatically. It is about not giving marginalised people as much leeway in what is acceptable and what is not. It's about holding them to a higher standard and punishing them more harshly for the same mistakes.
Marginalised people make mistakes. Marginalised people are human. Let them make mistakes and grow, give them as much room to improve as you give privileged people. Marginalised people don't have to be perfect to deserve respect.
