I just learned that some people who work in solar energy production have a unit of measurement called a sunshine hour.
It's apparently not much used, but it seems to defined as 1 hour of sunlight when the solar irradiance exceeds 120 Watts per square metre (W/m^2).
I like this, and I might start using it just because I can.
@InvaderXan also: foot candle
More than just a waxy fashion accessory!
@InvaderXan I want to help run a pub with a Sunshine Hour. ^_^
Gosh, me too. You would also, no doubt, be well suited to planning the menu! ☀️
@InvaderXan Tapas, I think - little delectables that are more interesting than mere salted nuts or crisps. Maybe a couple nice flat mushrooms with a pungent soft cheese like Stinking Bishop melted on, seasoned with but a tiny dash of rosemary and a couple wild garlic leaves. And there's all manner of wonders possible on an arancini theme.. =:9
(When there's money again, I intend to visit one place in town that's much better than one might expect for the area, and this time, see what their cannoli's like. *Loved* them back in the City - Victoria's in North Beach do lovely ones - but not so easy to find hereabouts)
You see? This is the perfect thing for you to do! ☀️
(Also, I know the feeling of missing certain foods. All too well.)
Sunbeam City is a Libertarian Socialist solarpunk instance. It is ran democratically by a cooperative of like-minded individuals.
