Narcissus 'Grand Soleil d'Or'

As well as living up to its sunny name, also has a wonderful fragrance.

Today's is another jonquil narcissi:
Narcissus 'Hoopoe'.

Jonquilla narcissi can have between 1-5 flowers per stem and have a wonderful fragrance which belie their delicate appearance. Grow them near your front and/or back door so you can enjoy the fragrance regularly. They also make great cut flowers.

today is:
Narcissus 'Jetfire'

This is an March flowering daffodil, and one of the particularly nice things about it is that it can be planted in more shade than most daffodils. So plant in a shady place under some deciduous trees and shrubs (i.e. they loose their leaves each autumn) and it will brighten up that area of the garden beautifully.

is a white jonquil with a strong orange-red trumpet:
Narcissus 'Cragford'

Another with a wonderful fragrance. Just one stem with it's 5 or so flowers can fill a room with scent. I also have this by my front door, so we, and anyone else coming to the door, gets a lovely whiff.

for today is a rather sweet little daff named:
Narcissus 'Jack Snipe'

It's a miniature trumpet daffodil (only 30cms high at most) in the cyclamineus narcissus group, with dainty swept back petals. It doesn't mind partial shade, and grows well in containers as well as in the ground.

This is Narcissis 'Minnow', a dwarf daffodil. This diminutive daff is very sweet, both in appearance and fragrance. It has 3-5 flowers per stem, will tolerate partial shade, and will form a nice clump over time. Flowers late March to early April.

today is:
February Gold

This is one of your classic larger yellow types, although the trumpet/cup is still smaller than those and it's petals sweep back. Despite the name 'February', it generally flowers in March! It doesn't mind some light shade. This one lights up the entrance to our driveway to all who passes.

And that's the last of the daffodil varieties in my garden for this year (though will probably show some out and above). I plan on buying a lot more in Autumn so will have new interesting types to show you next year :)
