There is a gentler style of humour, revolving around sincerity and a sort of targetless absurdity that is being developed in some areas of popular culture (children's shows like Steven Universe and podcasts like MBMBAM come to mind) but it takes time and practice to cultivate a new sense of humour in yourself.

preparing your community for a societal collapse

If we're really as close to collapse as some people say we are, the group you want to join/start is the Buy Nothing Project

buynothingproject.org

But don't just be happy with your little group of 5. Reach out, advertise, hold free skools and RRFMs, so when the time comes you know who knows how to grow food, make clothes, upcycle, fight, steal, pick a lock... Accustom yourself to living outside the system, so when the system fails, you're ready

Theft

Hah, turns out I started a Scoby stealing scheme right on solarpunk action week. Here's some sweet tea mixed with raw organic kombucha, in the hopes I can culture a mother Scoby. Will check back in in a week!

weed ecology

Cannabis is just another plant that can become an integral part of a permaculture.

Beans pull nitrogen out of the air to be used by nitrogen-hungry cannabis plants. Calendula is especially appealing to tiny pests who might otherwise be chomping on your cannabis. Stinging nettles add iron, magnesium, calcium and potassium to soil. And Chamomile (perhaps the best cannabis companion) can capture accumulated calcium, sulfur and potassium, which is delivered back to the soil as the plant breaks down.

Industrialized cannabis production, brought on by state legalization, has created vast monocultures that destroy the soil and waste electricity. Growing cannabis among a thriving permaculture is vital to the local ecology.

We are an ecology. Weed are an ecology.
