Solarpunk Action Week official dates: Spring 2019
This year's first #solarpunk action week will take place on the first full week of March (3rd-9th)! Start planning and organizing now for a week of community building and practical projects, and make sure to post about your actions with the hashtag #SolarpunkActionWeek so we can share them here!
Please boost this post and spread the word, and we'll see you punks in planting season! ✊💕
Earth Strike is the only one I've seen that's actually formed committees and gathered organizers and planned rallies, instead of just posting on twitter "hey guys we're having a strike in 2 weeks, tell your friends!"
It's not that simple, guys. 20 disorganized strikes of 100 people each won't do anything but get a lot of people fired. Don't split the energy
your daily reminder that the sudden elimination of a capitalist state will not address homophobia, racism, ableism, and other implicit biases
even if the revolution was tomorrow, we would still have work to do to get to an actually equitable world
one of the reasons that white anarchists frustrate me is this belief that if you topple the state, the goodness of people will float up and all that pesky racism stuff will melt away.
this is a dangerous belief. the revolution doesn't end at revolt.
Hey guys, Mastodon's format (where the person someone boosted from isn't visible, only the OP) is making it a lot harder for @actionweek to gain followers and activity than its sister blog on tumblr (72 here, 390 on tumblr)
Not that I particularly care about follower counts, it's just this is a cool event I'm trying to start and I think fedi would like it! But so few people are even hearing about it, and I think that's a shame
So if you could help out by either boosting this or the date toot pinned to the top of that account, that'd be a huge help! Love you guys 💕
How do people work full-time, be broke, emotional support their community and partners, AND create content/make beautiful things???
Counter-economy, solarpunk praxis
With how limited solar power is legally in Florida, especially for tenants, I'll bet I could make a pretty decent labor return by making cheap but effective #solar generators and selling them locally just a little over cost.
Is there a hashtag that acts as a Bat Signal for SBC coop members? I feel like when people have questions they tend to go straight to Coco, which is unnecessary most of the time and must be pretty overwhelming. It'd be nice if there was an easy way for normal people to get help without memorizing the usernames of coop members, and a hashtag that the whole coop followed would work great I think
If there isn't already such a thing, I nominate #SunbeamCoop. And we can put "If you need help, just toot the hashtag #SunbeamCoop!" on the about page, the wiki, our welcome messages to new members, Coco's responses when someone @s her anyway, etc, so everyone knows that it's an option
Conservatives imitating leftists: I'm an America hating communist homosexual and I love to burn flags and suck dick
Actual leftists: all of this is literally true, I'd have said the same thing about myself
Actual Conservatives: HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT ME, DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM, IM A NAVY SEAL, I (1/237)
27 y/o queer boy from the Southern USA. Looking for ways to incorporate more anti-capitalist/solarpunk practices in my daily life. Also a huge nerd.
Sunbeam City is a anticapitalist, antifascist solarpunk instance that is run collectively.
