No fascists in Valhalla.
@DissidentKitty valhalla is reserved for the spirits of the brave
fascists would be trying hard to be more cowardly
@Breakfast “Fear not the fascist; he is the consummate coward. Beneath the mask and riot armor, that state-made veneer of power, is a wailing, heaving toddler, told by men far more cynical than he that his tantrum is an expression of mythology and a defense of his birthright."
@Breakfast Meanwhile Anne Frank is having tea with MLK in Valhalla.
@DissidentKitty Thank you for this quality content.
@DissidentKitty strongly reminded of a friend's shirt design: https://eliza.threadless.com/designs/nazi-runeworkers-fuck-off/mens/t-shirt
@Tetra @DissidentKitty Tolkein based those Dwarven runes on Futhark runes (Younger Futhark, I think), so they're similar! But yeah, the character set doesn't map perfectly to modern English, so things like v need substitutions. Similarly to the Futhark runes like ᚦ [th] which modern English no longer uses. Icelandic still has the þ character though!
@DissidentKitty To be fair, Vikings were some colossal douche bags with all of the raping and pillaging and murdering you know.
... nice touch with the DeadKennedy's logo at the end!
@DissidentKitty Trying to prescribe meaning to runes is something that has annoyed me for a long time. It was the writing system of my home country for a long time, up until the 1800's in some places in fact.
It's still used in some cases (there are some modern inscriptions on builds documenting who built it and such things).
It's just a writing system.
@DissidentKitty We also have to talk about the Manji thing and recover it from those motherfuckers
Is this elder Futhark? Hahah that's way before the vikings
@DissidentKitty fuckin oath
